Happy Anniversary to my husband. One year ago today you made my life complete.
I may give you a hard time, but the truth is I have never had it so good. I am blessed to have found someone who compliments my craziness and moodiness with stability and support. You are the funniest person I have ever met and have never failed to put a smile on my face every single day I have known you. You do the dishes and pick up after me, which is no small feat. You give great gifts at really unexpected times letting me know that you are thinking of me. You do a mean jig on demand. You suck at sharing the covers but always apologize about it the next morning. You have never gotten mad at a midnight phone call asking for a ride home after happy hour lasted one too many. You always dance with my friends at the bar. I love that you have turned “couch beers” into an art form.
I am excited to see where our lives go from here because I know no matter what path we choose it will be great with you by my side.
Thank you for making me a better person. I love you.

One year ago today we had a family and good friends get-together at St. Anthony on Main in Minneapolis. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful occasion. Our son Zachary was getting married to a very special lady from Michigan and we were getting a new daughter Melissa. To say it was a perfect day is a huge understatement. Zach & Melissa planned the entire day to perfection and they made everyone feel the joy of the moment. The memories are so vivid and will live on in our minds forever. As I look at the photos from that day, one thing stands out in my mind…..you could not get that smile off Zach’s face. The lady from Michigan has made our son a very happy man. We love our Melissa and she has brought great joy into our family. Celebrate this day and all the wonderful days to come as you journey through life together. We love you, Mom & Dad.

Congratulations you two on your anniversary. Your wedding was really fun; perhaps you could renew your vows next year and we could do it all over again.
What are “couch beers” and how has Zach turned them into an art form?

Congrats on your anniversary guys! I recall the day as well, though some parts are more vivid than others, and it was an absolute blast. So glad I was able to be a part of it.
One thing I’m confused about though:
“You do the dishes and pick up after me…”
Huh?

Jim-I like to drink beers while sitting on the couch. That’s really all it is. John-my wife doesn’t really do the dishes. Ever. So that’s my job. I know that’s a bit of a change from when we were living in Maplewood/St. Paul.

Zach likes to refer to my path of destruction as leaving “Barcus piles” wherever I go…

LOL at “Barcus piles”. Hilarious! I’ve got this great visual of Zach now wearing an apron as he bakes & cleans. A regular Mr. Mom (minus the child of course).

Zach & Melissa,
I hope you had a wonderful 1st anniversary. I know that there are many many more to come. I sat here on Sunday night looking at all the pictures from the wedding. It still brings tears to my eyes. (sorry its a mom thing). I have never seen you look so beautiful or happy. We could not ask for a better person to be part of our family. Zach completes you. I am so glad that you have such a great family in Minnesota. We miss you terribly but knowing that you have Zach and wonderful inlaws makes it easier for us. I could not be prouder of the of you for the woman you have become. Thank you Zach for loving our daughter and making her so happy. We love you.

Awww…
Now I think it’s time for you to send him over to my place…I have a whole pile of dishes and a litter box that needs cleaning.
