They make it look sooo easy. New floor?? No problem! You can do it in a weekend…
So this flooring project has been ongoing for almost 4 months. All of the flooring is down finally, but the finish work is dragging on. We’re both to blame, but seriously I’m ready to lose my mind with the mess. That is saying a lot considering I’ll let a dirty dish sit on the counter for a week with no problem. Our place is too small to have tools laying around and the dining room table in the living room. We’re ready to kill each other… Hopefully the murdering stays on hold long enough to celebrate our one year anniversary next week.
Pray for us…

You’d think after marrying Zach, otherwise known as the Osceola Bob Vila, that that project would have been completed in one weekend.

Here is an article that I think all wives should read before making their significant other start a remodel (I’m not insinuating that the remodel was Melissa’s idea, but think it is a good read).

Remember, not all of us are Ty Pennington. I may have the look of a handy guy :), but I assure you, I am the furthest from it.

It doesn’t help when the “man” of the house is more adept with baking a pan of brownies than using a nail gun. And thank God we’re not Ty Pennington. That guy sucks.

You mean with ZJ, a.k.a. Osceola’s Bob Vila, you couldn’t get it pounded out in a weekend?

Good article John. It was a mutual decision to do the floor. This little project has really solidified for me how much I truly hate do it yourself projects.

Zach does bake a mean brownie. Take some advice from someone who has owned about 50 houses during my life. If you hate remodeling, maintaining and fixing, buy a townhouse or make tons of money and hire a handyman.
